She walked down the darkened street, the rain beating down on her, leaving behind water trails as it ran along her skin. She didn't mind, didn't even register the chill in the air or the fact that she was soaked through. He was there suddenly, grasping her hand from the shadows, pulling her into him. The heat of his body radiated along her skin and she opened her mouth to speak, to tell him of the pain of being without him, of the loneliness he had left her with. But, it all melted away with the gentle press of his finger against her lips, quieting her, dismissing her thoughts. He wrapped her in his arms and pulled her into a comforting embrace. She shook silently, a single tear drifting down her cheek to be lost to the falling rain as they stood against the building, shrouded by shadows. He lifted his hand to her face and trailed it down her cheek, stroking gently along her chilled skin. His touch was somehow warm and she leaned her face into that touch. His hand swept back and got lost in her hair, pressing her forward once more and laying the gentlest of kisses along her forehead. His arms tightened possessively around her, as if he could claim her as his own in that very embrace. She lifted her head and turned her face upwards to meet his eyes. He lifted a hand and tenderly swept strands of clinging hair from her face. His hand slid down her arm and caught her hand, intertwining their fingers as he lifted them, brushing a kiss along her knuckles, then releasing it back to her side. His arm moved along her back to fall on her shoulder as he spun her away from the building with his guiding arm. They turned together, moving back down the street, with her huddled against his side and his arm laying reassuringly over her shoulders with gentle pressure to guide her along with him. They made their way back down the empty street, the rain falling as an almost mystical backdrop while the two of them rounded the corner and disappeared from sight. |

My only suggestion would be that you don't use the word "possessive". It has too many negative connotations, and stands out in an otherwise positive and beautifully descriptive piece. Keep it up.
